Kelli is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer(C.P.D.T.), a Certified Level 2 Clicker Trainer,(CAP2) and is Certified in both Level I and Level II from the Canine Behavior Academy at the Marin Humane Society in Novato, Ca. She has over 20 years of experience in animal care, dog training, and personnel management, and is also certified in Canine First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross. Prior to founding Pride and Pedigree, she worked at Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc. in the Training department, Breeding department, and as Program Manager for the Puppy Socialization and Foster Care programs. Kelli has also Titled her dog, Ginger Peach, in AKC Rally Obedience with the highest score in the competing class. Pride and Pedigree is the culmination of her years of experience and a passion for dogs.
Prior to being employed by Guide Dogs, Kelli was a veterinary technician for over 10 years and has a passion for holistic and natural health, and stays busy training and competing with her own dogs in AKC Rally Obedience , Canine Nosework, and Circus Tricks, as well as riding and training her Quarter Horse Maverick and Miniature horse, Silver. Kelli is owned by Darby, a Boston terrier, Bella, a French Bulldog, Ginger Peach, a Boston terrier, and Joey, a former PROS Foster Pug.
Administrative and Canine Training Manager
Juliene has raised dogs and horses — along with a menagerie of other animals — all of her life. She’s always harbored a deep love of animals, interest in all aspects of their care, and profound desire to find better ways to communicate with them. This drive to understand how animals think led her to pursue a career in animal behavior and training.
Aside from her lifetime of personal experience with her own animals, Juliene has over ten years of professional experience working with dogs — eight of which were earned in a Dog Daycare environment. In addition to working with dogs on an individual basis, Juliene is also well-versed in handling large groups of dogs.
Juliene is certified in the first level of the Competency Assessment Program (CAP) – a program that assesses the ability of clicker trainers and has completed training in safe handling techniques and attended numerous seminars from top trainers regarding canine behavior. She is also certified in Canine First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross. .
Juliene shares her life with four dogs –Cash, Taco, Zorra and Capone — and two horses – Gypsy and Kachina – With the exception of Cash, all are rescued and rehabilitated. Juliene is pictured with her beloved Sasha, who waits for her at the Rainbow Bridge.
Anika has several years of experience caring for dogs and cats as the owner of her own pet care business and is certified in Canine First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross. After working for a few years in the medical administrative field , she decided that adding more care for dogs in addition to her pet care business was where her passion lies. Anika is a superstar at organizing and delegating tasks to the Dog Care Staff and helps keep Pride and Pedigree running like a finely tuned instrument! When Anika isn’t at the beck and call of tiny dogs in the small dog room, she is cheering for the Black and Silver! Go Raiders!
Overnight Care Specialist
Erica has worked for many years in the animal care industry and is certified in Canine First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross. She has demonstrated ongoing dedication to dog care with her rich experience in the veterinary care industry. Erica also owns her own pet care business where she demonstrates reliability and trust with private clients.
Dog Care Specialist
Laura brings with her both experience with dogs from prior employment in the Dog Care Industry and experience with farming which is a natural fit for the environment at Pride and Pedigree. She enjoys keeping the space clean and running efficiently which in turn keeps the dogs in our care happy! Laura is also certified in Canine First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross. In her off time, Laura enjoys reading, gardening and sewing as well as spending time with her cute dog Jack.
Dog Care Specialist
Chad recently relocated to Oakland from Los Angeles where he was an accomplished vegan cook. Chad had his passion for dogs sparked at a dog care facility in Southern California and is ready to throw himself back to the dogs! His easy going and kind nature ensures the dogs in his care are happy! Chad spends his free time practicing and playing shows with his band but that’s just a way to spend his time until he can get back to the dogs at Pride and Pedigree! Chad is also certified in Canine First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross.
Dog Care Specialist
Alex has spent most of his life in the company of dogs. His family has raised many different breeds, which makes Alex a natural at caring for the dogs at Pride and Pedigree. Alex has also provided in-home pet sitting, as well being employed as an Academic Coach, assisting local youth in Oakland and Richmond . In his spare time, Alex enjoys playing bass, hanging out with his rescued Boxer,Bojangles, and excelling at Fantasy Football. Alex is also certified in Canine First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross
Night Shift Supervisor
Jed is responsible for walking the premises at night and making sure nothing is astray. He is full of purrs and enjoys a good scratch every now and then. During his free time he enjoys sleeping, eating, watching the Discovery Channel, and…sleeping.
