Training

Training

Training is vital to your dog’s safety and care, and is a great way to deepen your relationship with your dog while giving them mental and physical stimulation. However, we know that life gets busy and it can sometimes be difficult to set aside time to devote to your dog’s education. That is why Pride and Pedigree has certified trainers on staff, to help supplement your dog’s training program while they are in our care.

Individual Training Sessions

Dogs who are signed up for Individual Training Sessions are worked with one-on-one, so they receive all the attention and assistance they need to succeed. Our methods are gentle and respectful, based in dog psychology and relationship training, utilizing the latest and most relevant training philosophies. During our training sessions, we work on issues such as:

  • Basic Obedience, such as “Sit,” “Down,” “Stay” and Recall
  • Focus & Attention
  • Loose-Leash Walking
  • Polite Greetings (No More Jumping!)
  • Impulse Control (“Leave It,” “Drop It,” “Go To Your Bed/Kennel” and more)
  • Relationship & Connection to Handler
  • Tricks & Games
  • ..and more!
  • Day School

As a member of our Undergraduate Program, your dog will receive ten days of training with the addition of social breaks where your dog can interact with their peers and decompress from their lesson. Topics include the list above, as well as additional concerns you may have (when applicable). Day School students also receive a daily lesson review via email, homework, videos of their progress and training support for owners. Students have the choice of signing up for our 10-Day Undergraduate Program and our 20-Day Graduate Program.

    Board & Train

If you are planning to leave your dog for boarding, and would like them to have some extra enrichment and/or practice with their training, you can sign them up for our Board & Train program! Students enrolled into our Board & Train program receive the same benefits as our Day School students, with cozy overnight accommodations.
